"There is more in any human being to celebrate than to denigrate."
—Albert Camus, from his novel The Plague

The quote above flowed quietly from the trickle of posts today.
It is easy for any human to forget, and fall into cruelty, when you experience cruelty from others. But if you let go, and forget the humanity of the Other, even those who have harmed you greatly, you will lose the pliability of your heart and so your own humanity. And once you turn down that path completely, you will have lost everything; even if you don't recognize it at the time.
This choice, to turn towards a remembering of the humanity of the Other, is something no one can take from us, no matter how difficult our experience in life has been.
It is sort of a prayer; which I always view as thoughts to practice; words which by their falling over you, change you.
